Deckhead (dek'-hed) noun - originally the name used by an underground group of purist California skateboarders to distinguish themselves from riders with far lesser abilities. The name has now been transformed into a self-described slang term for anyone who is an extremely proficient rider of a board, whether it is a skateboard, snowboard, waveboard or surfboard, and still retains an anti-social attitude. The name is derived from the board part of the skateboard which is called a deck.
